Series: Time to Conquer
Week 1: It’s Time to Move
Scripture: Joshua 1:1–9 (Focus on verses 2, 5, 8)
You can’t conquer what you’re not willing to move toward. God’s promises require obedience, courage, and trust—even when you're unsure of what’s ahead. Before the walls fall, before the river parts, you’ve got to take that first step.
Joshua 1:2
Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan..."
God didn’t give Joshua a suggestion—He gave him a command. The wilderness season was over. It was time to move forward. But movement isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes we’d rather stay stuck in what’s familiar than risk stepping into the unknown.
The longer you delay obedience, the more you normalize disobedience
Joshua 1:5
As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
God didn’t expect Joshua to conquer anything on his own. He reminded him that His presence would go with him. Real courage doesn’t come from titles, experience, or self-confidence—it comes from knowing God is with you.
Stop looking at your limitations and start looking at His faithfulness.
Joshua 1:8
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night...
Before Joshua could lead, fight, or cross rivers, he had to be grounded in God’s Word. God knew the real battle would be in his mind. Meditation isn't just reading a verse—it's letting God’s Word shape the way you think, speak, and live.
You can’t march in victory if you’re meditating on defeat.
This week’s message reminds us: we can’t step into God’s promises if we’re unwilling to move. The call to Joshua is the same for us—"Get ready to cross." It takes courage, obedience, and time in His Word. But God never calls us forward without going with us.
Think about the next step God is calling you to take. It doesn’t need to be big or dramatic—but it does need to be obedient. Whether it’s forgiving someone, starting to serve, getting baptized, or simply spending more time in Scripture—this week, move.
