Genesis 6–9 (Focus Passages: Genesis 6:22, 7:1, 8:1, 9:13)
God often asks us to build when we can't see the rain yet. Like Noah, we’re called to obey—especially when it doesn’t make sense to others. Obedience is the foundation for the new thing God wants to do in and through us. This season isn't about a building; it's about building in faith.
Genesis 6:22
Noah did everything just as God commanded him.
Noah didn’t build the ark because it made sense. He built it because God said to. He obeyed without confirmation, applause, or signs of a coming storm. Faith like that looks strange to the world—but it’s exactly what God uses to prepare us for what’s ahead. When you obey even when it’s hard, you’re laying the groundwork for God to move.
IF YOU WANT MAN’S APPROVAL, YOU’LL MISS GOD’S ASSIGNMENT.
What’s something God might be asking you to build, even if it doesn’t make sense yet?
Genesis 7:1
Go into the ark… because I have found you righteous in this generation.
It’s easy to get attached to what God used in one season. But the ark wasn’t the miracle—God was. The ark was just a tool to carry Noah to the next chapter. Our church building was a vessel too—a tool God used—but now He’s calling us forward. We honor what He’s done by following Him into what’s next.
THE MIRACLE ISN’T WHAT YOU BUILT—IT’S WHAT GOD DOES THROUGH IT
Is there something in your life—a tool, a space, a method—you’ve grown too attached to? What might it look like to trust God beyond it?
Genesis 8:1
But God remembered Noah…
God always finishes what He starts. The moment God tells you to build, He already has the rain in mind. He already sees the breakthrough. Our job isn’t to control the timing—it’s to stay faithful in the building. We prepare now so we’re ready when the rain comes. And when it does, we won’t panic—we’ll step into His promise.
GOD NEVER STARTS SOMETHING IN YOU WITHOUT THE INTENTION TO COMPLETE IT THROUGH YOU
What promise has God given you that you're waiting to see fulfilled? What step of obedience can you take today to prepare for the rain?
Noah’s story isn’t just about a boat—it’s about bold obedience. He followed God when it looked foolish, trusted Him through the unknown, and worshiped Him when it was all said and done. As a church, we’re stepping into a new season—not because we have it all figured out, but because we trust the One who called us. We’re not building for comfort—we’re building for purpose.
Let’s build. Not because we see results yet, but because we trust the God who gave the blueprint. This week, reflect on your own "ark"—the thing God is calling you to build. Keep showing up. Keep obeying. Keep preparing. Because the rain is coming—and when it does, your obedience today will become your protection tomorrow.
